On October 23, 2006, Aki Ra and his team began de-mining the new site of the Cambodia Land Mine Museum Prevention and Rehabilitation Center. Aki and his team uncovered several live rounds, mines, grenades, artillery and a bag of detonators on this small 100m x 100m site near Bantrey Srei, further underscoring the landmine problems in Cambodia.

Ten days after de-mining began, the site was safe for construction. Fill for the site began arriving the day after de- mining was completed.

The contractor and construction crew has been selected and construction has now begun on the facility. Special thanks to Stuart who is acting architectural consultant on site.
